Tips for combining images into a GIF

Order your images before uploading if possible — the reorder controls make small adjustments easy, but starting close saves time. A frame duration of 200–400ms feels natural for slideshow-style GIFs; go faster for stop-motion effects.

Frequently asked questions

How many images can I combine?
There’s no hard limit, but more images mean a larger file and longer processing time. Most animated GIFs use somewhere between a handful and a few dozen frames.
Can I control how long each image shows?
Yes — the frame duration setting applies to every image equally, in milliseconds.
Do the images need to be the same size?
They don’t have to be, but mismatched aspect ratios can look distorted once scaled to a single output width. Cropping images to a consistent ratio beforehand gives cleaner results.
